SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Early intervention services. Continues the Joint Subcommittee Studying Early Intervention Services for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities for one year so that it can monitor the implementation of recommendations that it has made regarding the Part C federal grant program. The joint subcommittee will be focusing on (i) the interagency coordination of service delivery and funding sources to ascertain the most cost effective and appropriate manner for delivery of early intervention services; (ii) performance and outcome measurement pilots for Part C children; (iii) the standardization of forms, data collection and assessment procedures to support a seamless, integrated and coordinated Part C system; (iv) efforts to develop and implement technical assistance for localities; (v) training on the Part C program and using Early Periodic Screening and Diagnosis and Treatment; (vi) the early intervention fee system; (vii) ways of reaching populations that are underserved because of cultural diversity; (viii) child find activities and Part C public awareness campaigns; and (ix) Part C provider networks in HMO contracts.
