SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Constitutional amendment (first resolution); Secretary of the Commonwealth; election and duties. Provides for the election of a Secretary of the Commonwealth for a four-year term at the same time as the election of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. The Secretary will have the duties defined by law including, but not limited to, responsibilities for the administration of laws relating to elections and campaign finance, lobbying, conflict of interests, freedom of information, and the records of the Commonwealth. The Secretary may be elected for successive terms.
