SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Claims; Robert and Lori Shivers. Provides $1,038 in relief for Robert and Lori Shivers. The Shiverses moved to Rockingham County, Virginia, from California in 1994. They filed tax returns for both California and Virginia in 1995 for the 1994 tax year. In 1998, they received notification from the State of California that they had miscalculated their income. The Shiverses subsequently filed an amended 1994 tax return in Virginia which calculated an additional refund of $1,038. They were informed by the Department of Taxation that the three-year time deadline for filing an amended return had passed.
