SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Vehicle registration; fees. Increases from two dollars to three dollars the annual surcharge placed on certain motor vehicle registrations to support emergency medical services. This bill also requires that 33 1/3 percent of funds collected be distributed in the following manner: 50 percent is credited to the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund and 50 percent is returned to the localities, provided there is no local reduction in funding.
SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Four for life. Increases from two dollars to three dollars the annual surcharge placed on certain motor vehicle registrations to support emergency medical services. Provides that 33 1/3 percent of funds collected shall be distributed in the following manner: fifty percent is credited to the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund and fifty percent is returned to the localities provided there is no local reduction in funding.
