SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Claims; Russell, Beverly Q. Permits Beverly Q. Russell the opportunity to pursue her claims against the Commonwealth by the Commonwealth waiving protection afforded by sovereign immunity. Mrs. Russell was an employee of the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services at Catawba Hospital. In the course of her duties, Mrs. Russell was injured by a violent patient. Worker’s compensation has not fully compensated Mrs. Russell for her losses.
