SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Governor’s Development Opportunity Fund. Provides that the Governor may reduce the minimum number of new jobs required to be created, as a condition for eligibility for assistance from the Governor’s Development Opportunity Fund, when the average wage of the new jobs created is at least twice the prevailing wage for that locality or region. The Governor may reduce the number of new jobs required to be created to no less than one-half the number of jobs that would otherwise be required to be created. This bill is identical to SB 1247.
SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Governor’s Development Opportunity Fund. Provides money from the Fund for projects where the average wage of the new jobs created is at least twice the prevailing wage for that locality or region, the Governor may require no less than one-half the number of jobs as set forth for that locality.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Governor’s Development Opportunity Fund. Provides that a locality may receive funding from the Governor’s Development Opportunity Fund for more than the current one project in a given fiscal year.
