SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Acquisition of real property by Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Requires that before VDOT can acquire certain real property it must provide certain notice of its intention to do so, offer to hold a hearing on the acquisition, hold the hearing if asked to do so, and, after the hearing, advise the local governing body within whose jurisdiction the property is located, of VDOT’s plans (if any) for compensating the locality for the loss of tax base that will result from VDOT’s acquisition of the property.
