SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Prisons; commitment of state prisoners. Allows local jailers and superintendents to request that the Director of the Department of Corrections evaluate their overcrowding or staff shortages and to expedite transfer of state responsible offenders to the state correctional facilities. Current law gives the Director sixty days to accomplish the transfer.
