SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Child sexual offenses. Raises the penalty for possession of child pornography from a Class 3 misdemeanor to a Class 6 felony. Subsequent offenses are a Class 6 felony under current law. The bill also makes it a Class 5 felony to communicate with a minor under 14 years of age with the intent of taking indecent liberties with children or of producing, distributing, etc., sexually explicit material involving children.
