SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Virginia Supreme Court; uniform statewide formatting standards for land records indexing. Requires the Supreme Court to adopt uniform statewide formatting standards for land records indexing by December 1, 1999, in consultation with the Virginia Circuit Court Clerks’ Association. The initial standards must include the land records indexing standards developed by the Land Records Management Task Force pursuant to a prior act of the General Assembly and be implemented in the circuit courts by December 1, 2000. The bill is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Technology and Science.
