SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Eluding police; penalties. Raises the penalty for eluding police from a Class 1 misdemeanor to a Class 6 felony and from a Class 6 felony to a Class 5 felony if the eluding results in a bodily injury. Additionally, upon conviction, the court is required to suspend the defendant’s driver’s license.
