996236666WHEREAS, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger of Mount Solon, a former member of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors, died on January 18, 1999, of injuries received in an automobile accident; and
WHEREAS, a native of Mt. Sidney, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger was a veteran of service in the United States Army during World War II; and
WHEREAS, the owner of a contracting firm, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger was a member of the Bridgewater United Methodist Church and a former member of the Mount Solon United Methodist Church, which he served in various offices; and
WHEREAS, a member of the Shenandoah Home Builders Association, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger was active in various committees in the Virginia Home Builders Association; and
WHEREAS, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger was a respected and effective member of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors for 11 years; and
WHEREAS, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger was a former member of the board of directors of the Methodist Home in Roanoke and was a member of the North River Ruritan Club and the Tri-County Antique Car Club; and
WHEREAS, a prominent and highly respected home-builder, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger also served the citizens of Augusta County with dedication and integrity; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly note with sadness the loss of an outstanding citizen of Augusta County, Rollin Maurice Harshbarger; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Rollin Maurice Harshbarger as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
