Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That it shall be the policy of the Commonwealth that the accurate, true, and impartial history of Virginia be presented in the public schools, state institutions of higher education, and state museums and historical institutions. Such presentation of the Commonwealth’s history shall include a balance of distinct and diverse perspectives. It shall also be the policy of the Commonwealth that the public schools and state institutions of higher education recognize and acknowledge honorably, equally, and without prejudice all individuals named in legal state holidays pursuant to § 2.1-21 of the Code of Virginia and those individuals honored by federal holidays that have been combined with such legal state holidays.
