996206114WHEREAS, Pamella Bevin Aheron of Bassett, an Honor Roll student at Bassett High School, died on December 29, 1998, of injuries received in an automobile accident; and
WHEREAS, a native of Henry County and the daughter of Willie A. Aheron and Jean Hancock Aheron, Pamella Aheron was a junior at Bassett High School who excelled scholastically; and
WHEREAS, a member of several student scholastic clubs and programs, Pamella Aheron was active in the Beta Club, the Gifted and Talented program, and the Interact Club; and
WHEREAS, also active in sports, Pamella Aheron was a member of the Bassett High School varsity tennis team, which awarded her the Most Valuable Player award, and was a member of the varsity basketball cheerleading squad, which voted her “most spirited”; and
WHEREAS, a member of the Bassett High School Marching and Concert Band, Pamella Aheron was elected to the All-County Band; and
WHEREAS, a talented and versatile young woman, Pamella Aheron leaves an enviable legacy of achievement, leadership, and initiative; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the tragic and untimely loss of a young Virginian of great promise, Pamella Bevin Aheron; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Pamella Bevin Aheron as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
