996508256WHEREAS, the Front Royal-Warren County Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the promotion of tourism and is constantly seeking ways to attract new visitors to our community; and
WHEREAS, Front Royal-Warren County is unique among the northern Shenandoah Valley counties in its having three separate Shenandoah rivers flowing through its boundaries; and
WHEREAS, Warren County-based outfitters make significant contributions to the community’s tourism industry; and
WHEREAS, the Shenandoah River is the most heavily canoed river in the Commonwealth, and Warren County is already the de facto “canoe capital of Virginia,” having more outfitters within its boundaries than any other in Virginia; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby designate Front Royal-Warren County the Canoe Capital of Virginia; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Town Council of Front Royal and the Board of Supervisors of Warren County.
