994748120Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 17.1-606.1 as follows:
§ 17.1-606.1. Appointment of guardians ad litem for children.
The circuit court is authorized to appoint a discreet and competent attorney at law who is qualified pursuant to § 16.1-266.1 as guardian ad litem to represent the interests of a child in any case involving custody, guardianship, visitation or support of the child which is an issue incidental to the determination of a cause pending in the circuit court or in any case appealed from the juvenile and domestic relations district court. Compensation for such guardians ad litem shall be provided in accordance with the provisions of § 16.1-267.
