Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-57.3 as follows:
§ 18.2-57.1:1. Improper use of laser pointer; penalty.
Any person who projects the target of a laser pointer toward a person he knows is a law-enforcement officer while such officer is engaged in his official duties with the intent to intimidate the officer or interfere with the performance of his official duties shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
