Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 58.1-3284.2 as follows:

§ 58.1-3284.2. Assessment of land surface with standing timber trees.

The Commissioner, when assessing timberland, shall set forth in the land book the fair market value of the land and the fair market value of the timber trees separately.

2. That § 58.1-3284 of the Code of Virginia is repealed.
