HOUSE BILL NO. 2727 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Chesapeake Bay and Its Tributaries on February 4, 1999) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Jones, J.C.) A BILL to modify the water quality standard for tributyltin.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the numerical water quality standard adopted by the State Water Control Board for tributyltin is hereby modified to provide that the standard shall be enforced through the use of best management practices until the earlier of (i) thirty months from the publication of a plan pursuant to § 62.1-44.19:7 for the receiving waters where such standard may be applied, (ii) thirty months from the publication by the United States Environmental Protection Agency of final ambient water quality criteria for tributyltin or (iii) publication of a report following completion of the thirty-month Center for Advanced Ship Repair and Maintenance tributyltin pilot treatment project.

2. That the provisions of this act shall expire on July 1, 2000.
