1999 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8.01-192 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 8.01-192. How claims to be prosecuted.
When the Comptroller or other authorized person shall disallow, either in whole or in part, any such claim against the Commonwealth as is provided for by §§ 2.1-223.1, 2.1-223.3 or § 8.01-605 at which time a right of action under this section shall be deemed to accrue, the person presenting such claim may petition an appropriate circuit court for redress.
No cause of action, except for personal injury or death to the extent permitted under § 8.01-195.3, shall be permitted pursuant to this article which is based on any claim arising from the failure of a computer, software program, database, network, information system, firmware or any other device, whether operated by or on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia or one of its agencies, to interpret, produce, calculate, generate, or account for a date which is compatible with the "Year 2000" date change.
