Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. Regional sports organizations to make financial records available.

Regional sports organizations shall make all financial books and records relating to the operation and administration of the organization available to members thereof for inspection upon request. This right of inspection shall exist without reference to the duration of the membership and may be exercised only during reasonable business hours or at a mutually convenient time and location. For the purposes of this act, “regional sports organization” means any voluntary, nonprofit organization or association which is exempt from taxation under § 501 (c) (7) of the Internal Revenue Code serving a specific geographic area and which operates a sports or other recreational program for the children of its members.
