1999 SESSION
(SB721)GOVERNOR'S VETO
Pursuant to § 6 of Article V of the Constitution of Virginia, I am vetoing Senate Bill 721, which is attached hereto.
This legislation attempts to amend the definition of what constitutes a "dangerous dog" presumably to protect the public safety.
The legislation is so vague and so poorly worded it clearly cannot achieve its intended objective.
Several members of the Senate of Virginia have expressed strong reservations about this measure.
Accordingly, I am returning this bill without my signature.
