SUMMARY:

Health care for the indigent and uninsured population. Continues for the next three years the study by the Joint Commission on Health Care pertaining to improving access to health care for Virginia's indigent and uninsured population pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution 288 (1997). The continuation resolution contemplates the Joint Commission on Health Care examining (i) the Indigent Health Care Trust Fund and a proposed pilot program, (ii) the federal State Children's Insurance Program, and (iii) the number and demographics of uninsured persons in Virginia to ensure that the greatest number of Virginians receive quality, cost-effective health care services.
