SUMMARY:
Abatement of lead-based paint. Continues the Joint Subcommittee Studying the Abatement of Lead-based Paint. The joint subcommittee is to continue to monitor: lead-poisoning and abatement issues, with particular emphasis on prevention of childhood lead poisoning; the implementation of the lead certification program; the progress towards eliminating childhood lead poisoning; the implementation of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development's federal grant for lead abatement; and the impact of federal law and regulations on the real estate industry and the citizens of Virginia. This subcommittee holds one meeting per year, which is designed to provide the members with the data and issues relating to the previous year's activities.
