SB 181 Attorney disciplinary proceedings.

SUMMARY:

Attorney disciplinary proceedings. Provides that when a rule to show cause is issued in disciplinary proceedings by the Supreme Court or the Court of Appeals, it is returnable to the Circuit Court of the City of Richmond. The Chief Justice is to designate three circuit court judges to hear and decide the case and if the rule is issued by the Court of Appeals or a circuit court, the judges must be from a circuit other than the one in which the case is pending.

This bill is recommended by the Judicial Council.
