SUMMARY:

Approval of compromises on behalf of persons under a disability in suits or actions to which they are parties. Revises the A. M. Best rating criterion for selection of an insurance company to require that periodic payments under a compromise agreement in a personal injury case involving persons under a disability be placed in A+ (A plus) or better funds, reflecting the addition of an A++ rating by Best. Currently A+ funds are the highest rating required by law. This bill is identical to HB 566.
