SUMMARY:

Study; pain management. Continues the Joint Subcommittee Studying the Commonwealth's Current Laws and Policies Related to Chronic, Acute, and Cancer Pain Management as the Joint Subcommittee to Monitor the Implementation of Certain Guidelines for Use of Opioids. This resolution describes the extensive work of the joint subcommittee, including, holding a symposium, involving law-enforcement and medical experts in discussion, supporting the development of the chronic pain guidelines by the Medical Society of Virginia. In the coming year, the joint subcommittee would only hold one meeting and would monitor the implementation of the chronic pain guidelines.
