SUMMARY:
Study; New Teachers. Establishes a joint subcommittee to study the demand for new teachers and their educational needs. In conducting its study, the joint subcommittee is to review and assess the preparation of prospective teachers in Virginia; evaluate the revised teacher licensure regulations in light of projected training needs; assess the preparation of new teachers vis-?-vis the Standards of Learning and the Standards of Accreditation; and consider such related issues as the joint subcommittee deems necessary. Referred by Speaker's letter to the House Education Committee to conduct the study.
