Introduced by: Harry J. Parrish | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Study; Collection of motor fuels taxes. Establishes a 13-member joint subcommittee to study whether Chapter 21 (§ 58.1-2100 et seq.) of Title 58.1 should be recodified in order to change the method for collecting state taxes on motor fuels. Currently, motor fuel taxes are remitted by jobbers, dealers, and refiners. Several states have adopted a system requiring the tax to be collected on motor fuel distributed at terminals. Referred by Speaker's letter to the House Finance Committee to conduct the study.
