SUMMARY:
Compensation of court-appointed counsel. Increases amounts paid to court-appointed counsel in circuit court cases involving felonies. The maximum fee allowed for a Class 2 felony increases from $735 to $845 in fiscal year 1999 and $882 thereafter, and for Class 3, 4, 5, and 6 felonies from $265 to $305 in fiscal year 1999 and $318 thereafter. The maximum fee payable for Class 1 felonies is unchanged. This is a recommendation of the Crime Commission.
