SUMMARY:
Virginia Gifted Education Pilot Program. Establishes the Virginia Gifted Education Pilot Program to provide a model for school divisions, facilitate the identification of gifted students, enhance and improve existing gifted education programs, and increase the representation of gifted minority and low-income students in such programs. The program shall consist of selected pilot projects geographically dispersed throughout the Commonwealth. The pilot programs are established with such funds as may be appropriated for this purpose. The act expires July 1, 2001.
