SUMMARY:

Executive Education Center for School Administrators. Establishes the Executive Education Center for School Administrators to deliver a high quality and coordinated statewide program for the professional development of principals and superintendents, and to assist them in attaining the knowledge and skills necessary to implement the revised Standards of Learning (SOLs), the Standards of Accreditation (SOAs), and the Statewide Assessment Program. The Board of Education is required to establish rules and policies for the conduct and operation of the Center and to collaborate with institutions of higher education that desire to participate in the Center to provide an annual program of study. Such program of study shall include, but not be limited to, course offerings on education law, the SOLs, SOAs, the Statewide Assessment Program, educational measurement and evaluation, school finance, effective leadership and management skills, in-service training, and school safety issues. The Department of Education is required to collect and analyze the information and data obtained from the program evaluation and to use such information to determine program needs and effectiveness.
