WHEREAS, Minnie H. Cosby of Chesapeake, a 25-year employee of the Chesapeake Public School System, died on June 23, 1997; and
WHEREAS, a native of Norfolk County, now the City of Chesapeake, Minnie Cosby was a 1972 graduate of Norfolk State University; and
WHEREAS, a second-grade teacher at Georgetown Primary School in Chesapeake, Minnie Cosby was a member of the Chesapeake, Virginia, and National Education Associations; and
WHEREAS, devoted to the Union Chapel A. M. E. Church in Norfolk, Minnie Cosby served as a member of the Steward Board, a Sunday school teacher, an after-school tutor, and a Prayer Warrior; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated teacher, devoted church leader, and highly valued member of the community, Minnie Cosby will be sorely missed by her many students, colleagues, admirers, and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby mourn the untimely death of a talented and accomplished Virginian, Minnie H. Cosby; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Minnie H. Cosby as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
