SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 223
On the death of Gloria J. W. Cook.

WHEREAS, Gloria J. W. Cook of Norfolk, a retired special education teacher in the Norfolk Public Schools, died on September 5, 1997; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated teacher, Gloria Cook was widely respected for her sensitivity to the special needs of her students; and

WHEREAS, devoted to her family and the Norfolk community, Gloria Cook will be missed by her many friends and admirers, by her former colleagues, and by the many young people she helped; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly note with sadness the passing of a talented and dedicated Virginian, Gloria J. W. Cook; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Gloria J. W. Cook as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
