WHEREAS, Addie C. Miller of Norfolk, the first lady of the Brotherly Love Church of God in Christ, died on November 15, 1997; and

WHEREAS, a native of Gates County, North Carolina, Addie Miller was the devoted wife of the Reverend Wilbert C. Miller, Sr., the pastor of the Brotherly Love Church of God in Christ; and

WHEREAS, Addie Miller played an active role in the church, working diligently for many years to strengthen the ministry; and

WHEREAS, Addie Miller also served on the Mothers Board, as state president of the Purity Class, and as a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association and the Titustown Civic League; and

WHEREAS, Addie Miller assumed many roles as a pastor's wife, providing vital assistance in building the church while raising a family and establishing her own record of pastoral and community service; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the loss of Addie C. Miller; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Addie C. Miller as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
