982361485Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. Every agency, department, board, commission, authority, political subdivision or other instrumentality of the Commonwealth, upon providing an appropriate level of protection to preserve security and confidentiality, may (i) accept the electronic filing of any information required or permitted to be filed with such agency, department, board, commission, authority, political subdivision or instrumentality and (ii) prescribe the methods of executing, recording, reproducing, and certifying electronically filed information; however, the provisions of this act shall not apply to any information required or permitted to be filed pursuant to the Virginia Public Procurement Act (§ 11-35 et seq.). Unless otherwise provided for in the Code of Virginia, electronic filing in the courts of this Commonwealth shall be governed by the Rules adopted by the Supreme Court of Virginia.
