HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 429 Confirming appointments to the Commonwealth Health Research Board and the Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission.

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly confirm the following appointments made by the Joint Rules Committee to the Commonwealth Health Research Board pursuant to § 23-278 of the Code of Virginia:

Hunter B. Andrews, 4408 Chesapeake Avenue, Hampton, Virginia 22669, for a term of four years beginning April 1, 1998;

David L. Bernd, 1072 Downshire Chase, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452, for a term of three years beginning April 1, 1998;

Elliot S. Schewel, 4316 Gorman Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia 24503, for a term of two years beginning April 1, 1998; and

Alson H. Smith, Jr., 2408 West Redoubt Lane, Winchester, Virginia 22603, for a term of five years beginning April 1, 1998; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the General Assembly confirm the following appointment made by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia to the Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission pursuant to § 17-234 of the Code of Virginia:

Ernest P. Gates, 8601 Waterfowl Flyway, Chesterfield, Virginia 23832, Chairman of the Commission for a term of three years beginning November 1, 1997, to succeed himself.
