983007717WHEREAS, Wilson N. Cobbs, a prominent Norfolk physician, died on July 17, 1997; and
WHEREAS, a native of Gordonsville, Dr. Cobbs was a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen, serving as a fighter pilot and flight surgeon and achieving the rank of second lieutenant; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated physician and devoted family man, Dr. Cobbs was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Norfolk; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Wilson Cobbs leaves a lasting legacy of service to his patients, his profession, his community, and the nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly note with sadness the passing of a fine Virginian, Wilson N. Cobbs; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Wilson N. Cobbs as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
