989267146Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 33.1-206.1 as follows:
§ 33.1-206.1. Department to establish uniform design and installation criteria for signs making highway deaths attributable to drunk driving; payment of costs.
The Department shall prescribe a uniform design and installation criteria for signs to be installed within highway rights-of-way to mark the locations of highway deaths attributable to drunk driving. All costs associated with the production and installation of any such sign shall be borne by the family of the deceased or by such other person or persons requesting the installation of any such sign.
