Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 28.2-209.1 as follows:

§ 28.2-209.1. Effective date of fishery regulations; emergencies exempted.

Except for emergency regulations as provided in § 28.2-210, any amendment to an existing fishery regulation or any new fishery regulation adopted by the Commission shall become effective on January 1.
