Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 24.2-622.1 as follows:

§ 24.2-622.1. Sample ballots on the Internet.

Beginning with the general election in November 1998, the State Board shall implement a system to furnish sample ballots for all elections in the Commonwealth electronically through the global information system known as the Internet. The sample ballot shall be made available on the Internet as soon as practicable before the election and remain available on the Internet until the day after the election.
