983167340Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 54.1-3412.1 as follows:
§ 54.1-3412.1. Drug expiration date.
The pharmacist dispensing any prescription shall include on the label of the container the approximate expiration date for that drug according to the date provided by the manufacturer on the drug batch from which the prescription was made. If special storage conditions are required, then that information shall also be provided to the patient, either on the container or in the patient counseling information.
