Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 14.1-118.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 14.1-118.1. Same; for providing electronic access to certain records.
Any clerk who provides remote electronic access,
including internet access through the global information system
known as the Internet, to nonconfidential court records or other records
pursuant to §§ 17-59.2 and 17-59.3 shall may
charge a fee established by the clerk or by the agency of the
county, city or town providing computer support in order to cover
the operational expenses of such computer support electronic
access, including, but not limited to, computer support,
maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, and future
