An Act to amend and reenact § 63.1-47 of the Code of Virginia, relating to compensation and expenses for local boards.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 63.1-47 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 63.1-47. Compensation and expenses.

Each member of the local board of a county or a city or of a district shall be paid his reasonable and necessary traveling and other expenses incurred in attendance upon meetings and while otherwise engaged in the discharge of his duties as such member. In addition to such expenses, the council or other governing body of each city or county may, out of the general fund of such city or county, pay to each member of the local board of such city or county, as compensation for his services as such member, not in excess of $600 per year. In any county the an amount of such compensation may to be fixed by the governing body of such city or county. No such county or city shall be reimbursed out of either state or federal funds for any part of such compensation paid.
