1998 SESSION
(SB482)GOVERNOR'S VETO
Pursuant to Article V, Section 6 of the Constitution of Virginia, I veto Senate Bill No. 482.
Senate Bill No. 482 creates a new section of the Code of Virginia, Section 58.1-3818.01, when the purpose of the bill could be accomplished by amending existing Code Section 58.1-3818. Indeed, another bill which has passed the General Assembly, and which I have signed into law, does just that. House Bill No. 875 grants Nelson County authority to impose admissions taxes as it deems appropriate and accomplishes the same purpose as Senate Bill No. 482, but without creating redundancies in the Code of Virginia.
For this reason, I disapprove of this bill and return it without my signature.
