SUMMARY:
Criminal procedure; Commonwealth's right of appeal. Implements the constitutional amendment which authorized the General Assembly to allow the Commonwealth the right of appeal in criminal cases. The bill would allow the Commonwealth to appeal in criminal cases from the Court of Appeals to the Supreme Court except in circumstances where the decision of the Court of Appeals is final (e.g., traffic and misdemeanor cases; certain pretrial rulings made in felony cases).
