1997 SESSION
SB 961 Conveyance of George Washington's Grist Mill State Park.
Introduced by: Joseph V. Gartlan, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Conveyance of George Washington's Grist Mill State Park. Repeals legislation enacted in 1936 and 1940 authorizing the conveyance and lease of the George Washington's Grist Mill State Park upon certain terms and conditions. The provisions of the 1936 and 1940 Acts are inconsistent with the 1996 legislation by which the Department of Conservation and Recreation was authorized to lease and subsequently convey the Grist Mill Park to the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association of the Union, Inc. This measure also clarifies the provisions of the 1996 legislation regarding when the Association may exercise its option to acquire the property.
