SUMMARY:

Motor carriers. Provides for permanent trailer and tractor truck registrations; exempts all trucks, tractors, and trailers with manufacturer's gross vehicle weight ratings of 26,001 pounds or more from the motor vehicle sales and use tax; clarifies requirements on safety inspections of motor carrier vehicles; increases fines for certain overweight violations; increases certain fees associated with motor carriers and motor carrier vehicles; revises taxation of rental vehicles. Misdemeanor only.
