SUMMARY:
Community development block grants. Requires that any annual program design for the Community Development Block Grant program shall stipulate that the maximum amount of a grant that may be awarded pursuant to the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to any county with an unemployment rate of nine percent or higher shall be one million dollars. Currently, the program design provides that the maximum amount of CDBG grants to such counties is $700,000. Program designs are submitted annually by the Department of Housing and Community Development to the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development.
