SUMMARY:
Compensation of local jails for cost of incarceration. Provides that the Department of Corrections shall begin paying an increased incarceration cost on the sixty-first day following the date of mailing or electronic transmittal of a final sentencing order instead of beginning to pay 60 days after the sentencing date. The bill also removes superflous language relating to the rate of reimbursement during earlier years.
